Manila: Justin Bieber, an 18-year-old Canadian pop singer and a YouTube sensation discovered by Scooter Brown in 2008 who later became his manager, earned the ire of the Filipinos for his unmitigated and childish action which was a classic example of “adding insult to injury”.

It has been nearly two months since he mocked Manny Pacquiao by posting doctored photos of the Philippine’s national boxer and a member of Congress to boot, in a compromising situation. Pacquiao was unfortunately knocked-out by Juan Manuel Marquez on their Dec. 8th bout last year.

The first photo depicted Pacquiao with Simba, a lion cub and the other with Michael Jackson.

After numerous statements issued by the country’s lawmakers demanding for an apology for his unprecedented action, for an icon who should be setting a good example for his adoring fans, Bieber even flaunted his egoistic nature by his response to the solons “If they were Beliebers I know they would not leave my side over a boxing opinion I have”.

His remark, another example of adding insult to injury and with utter disregard for respect, sparked intense outrage, over his unbecoming behavior, all over the nation.

Carol Jane Lopez, a Filipina politician, does not only want Bieber to be declared persona-non-grata but likewise encouraged young ones to stop listening to his music and boycott his concerts.

Justin Bieber was recently involved in an issue with TMZ last month, wherein he was allegedly smoking marijuana on a photo in the possession of TMZ which was showcased online.

For a public figure, humility is the best quality which could further enhance your popularity.

Filipinos are the most emotional country in the world, and on this incident, only Bieber’s apology can assuage their hurt feelings.
